The Gallery Fluid Triptych pieces were created during the global Covid pandemic lockdown period of 2020. It was a scary time for me; things were changing rapidly and I was primarily concerned with keeping myself and my family safe from a threat I didn’t understand.

The Gallery space itself represents a serene, comfortable, safe place that I’d like to be: it’s palpably airy, with lots of bouncing natural light and grand, sometimes-impossible architecture. Because it’s virtual, it is endless, offering limitless space to create and explore.

The Fluid pieces themselves represent a need to stay flexible in times of turbulence, when gravity itself seems to shift beneath us. While I am no expert scholar in Buddhism, I quite like the imagery and themes from Buddhist teachings that describe life as like flowing water: always changing and moving.
